The 4th „Piano e Forte” Festival & Piano Competition 2021 - Acknowledgments

On March 6, 2021, the 4th "Piano e Forte" Festival & Piano Competition 2021 - initiated by the pianist, Artistic Director, Marta Polanska – (started on March 1,) ended with the Gala Concert of Young Piano Masters. The event was held online (, during the birthday week (March 1) and the name day (March 5) of Fryderyk Chopin. The festival was inaugurated by a lecture of prof. dr hab. Benjamin Vogel (Sweden) entitled: "The piano in the musical culture of Chopin's time". The final chord of the Festival was an excellent interpretation of the Preludes, Op. 1 by Karol Szymanowski performed by Justyna Zolnacz, winner of the Grand Prix of the 4th „Piano e Forte” Piano Competition 2021, from the piano class of prof. Wilia Ochocka-Janusz, representing the Karol Szymanowski Music School Complex No. 4 in Warsaw. At this point, the organizers: the Music School Complex in Wieliczka and the Sfogato Music & Arts Society in Krakow would like to express their sincere thanks to all those who contributed to the realization of the fourth edition of the "Piano e Forte" project. Andrzej Pikul, Maria Kolary - from the piano class of Izabela Grzybek, Julia Wojcik - winner of the Grand Prix of the 1st „Piano e Forte” Piano Competition 2018, from the piano class of Dr. Iwona Poplawska-Zimowska, for beautiful interpretations of the title compositions and works of Fryderyk Chopin and Ignacy Jan Paderewski. Participants (55) of the 4th „Piano e Forte” Piano Competition 2021 from 24 music schools from all over Poland and their teachers, for their passionate performances and presentations, and the jurors: MA Waldemar Krol - chairman of the jury, MA Elzbieta Hoffman, MA Marta Polanska, Dr. Iwona Poplawska-Zimowska and the secretary of the Jury, MA Anna Kozlowska - music theorist, for a thorough evaluation of pianistic interpretations and theoretical presentations. The Fryderyk Chopin National Institute - the center of world pianism, the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow, the Paderewski Center in Kasna Dolna, and the Bronislaw Rutkowski Music School in Krakow, TVP 3 Krakow and the Magiczny Krakow portal - for constant and fruitful cooperation. Everyone participating in the events of the 4th "Piano e Forte" Festival & Piano Competition 2021 and the "Piano e Forte" Academy 2021 (168 registered participants from all over Poland) for their full commitment to lectures and concerts. We are very happy that, despite the limitations caused by the pandemic, we were able to meet you virtually, implementing the original formula of the „Piano e Forte” Festival & Piano Competition, fully developed since 2018, which embraces piano issues in a holistic way. We are glad that we were able to experience these extraordinary artistic emotions together, which are provided to us every year by wonderful professors, artists and young piano masters during the "Piano e Forte" project - showing the multifaceted role of the pianist and the piano. We hope that during the next edition we will be able to meet you, integrating the school and academic community from all over Poland in Krakow and Wieliczka.
